– With Fogia, I and my studio got to take part in an exciting journey with a producer that is really moving forward!
Andreas Engesvik attended the University of Bergen, Norway, where he studied art history. He studied further at the National College of Art and Design, earning a Master’s Degree in Design in 2000. The same year he founded the company Norway Says. In 2009, Andrew decided to go ahead with the studio ANDREAS ENGESVIK, OSLO. His studio works in various fields of design, ranging from furniture and tableware to industrial design for various international clients such as Iittala, Muuto and Ligne Roset. He has won awards including the Red Dot Award, the Wallpaper Design Award and the Bruno Mathsson Award.
In 2014, Andreas designed the Tiki for Fogia. The idea behind the Tiki was to create a light and casual sofa that featured “old school comfort”. Tiki relates to the body in the sense that it has an internal structure that is then stuffed and upholstered without voids, something more commonly used on sofas. With your hand, you can touch all parts – side panels, bottom frame and cushions. This makes Tiki more intuitive and inviting.
